AIBES 5-Point Friday #8

From defense guardrails to mega-rounds and chip deals — here are 5 things our AI Business Engineers are excited about this week!

Signal Worth Noticing

This week, Anthropic publicly drew a hard line with the U.S. Department of Defense: it would not remove key safeguards from Claude, even under pressure tied to a major contract. This standoff emphasizes that model governance is becoming a purchasing requirement (what’s allowed, what’s blocked, and who gets to override it).

Then the ripple: employees from other top labs (including Google and OpenAI) organized support for similar limits, pushing their own companies to adopt clearer boundaries on surveillance and autonomous weapons use. That’s a second-order indicator that internal workforce pressure is joining regulators and buyers as a real constraint on “anything goes” deployments.

The strategic question for the next quarter: when you buy agentic capability, are you also implicitly buying the vendor’s “values layer”?

AIBES Partnership and Tech of the Week!

We’re proud to announce our official collaboration with X3 Performance and Physical Therapy as we joined them in Indianapolis for the National Football League (NFL) Combine!

AIBES is working alongside X3 to build and refine a next-generation sports performance database and algorithm-driven prediction engine designed to power an even more elite era of combine preparation.

Each year, approximately 10% of incoming drafted NFL athletes train at X3 under their top-tier coaches, PTs and performance staff. Now, we’re enhancing that edge with advanced data infrastructure, machine learning models, and a coach-friendly performance app that translates complex physiologic/training data into real-world competitive advantage.

This year marks an even bigger milestone: X3 has been awarded the NFL’s International Player Pathway (IPP) Program: a prestigious initiative to house, train, and prepare 11 international athletes for Combine testing and NFL roster placement.

Global expansion is a strategic priority for the NFL. History has shown that a single international superstar can unlock millions of new fans. AIBES’s work with X3 is about using raw force/fitness data to identify that next global impact player — faster and smarter. Because when identification, housing, and development of elite athletes is this capital intensive, better upstream prediction changes everything.

For the first time, X3 will deliver structured training and performance data on a cohort of IPP athletes directly back to the NFL — powered entirely by AIBES’s proprietary database, predictive algorithms, and analytics platform.

We’re excited to work alongside X3 owner Nick Walker as we help reshape how performance data informs pre-combine decisions and talent evaluation at the highest level.
